Father and Daughter.

While the epoxy on my armature is drying...
To distract the feelings of "I have no idea what i'm doing"
Flashback to the year 2000:
Father and Daughter, by Michael Dudok de Wit

Adam Elliot.

Last week I went to see Mary and Max at the "brand-spanking new" SVA theater
courtesy of ASIFA and International Animation Day

What can I say. Better just let you watch an interview with Adam Elliot himself explaining things.
He's a namesake. I'll always support an elliot...elliott...or rarely, an eliot.
It was raining sexual lubricant. True story.
Australia appears to be some sort of magical oasis for animation. Much like Canada.
The new Canada, perhaps.

But before Harvie Krumpet, and Mary and Max,
there were others....

So, where was Adam Elliot...in 1999?

Or 1998?

I knew fresh direct was good for something...

I can imagine how thrilling these photos must be to anyone but me...
Making a very rough mock-up in cardboard so I can measure materials,
and for camera testing. So far the lens seems to be working.
The puppet ended up around 12 inches. Which is 1:6, so that's great.
Now i'm going to let it sit in the living room haunting me until I cut wood and sculpt milliput.

Alanah, roommate of the year,
you are going to be thrilled to come home and live in a set. You really are.

Columbine

So im about to begin casting for a female-impersonator
Not particularly old or young, ambiguous like a large strange doll.
Long dark hair and exaggerated theater makeup is paramount.

"...little by little I am building my own beliefs, but they are all, though firm, very indefinite and unconsoling. When the intelligence asks, they answer well; but when the heart aches and begs for an answer, there is no support or consolation. With my intellectual demands and answers given...I am in the situation of two hands which would like to join, but the fingers collide."

Applying for a grant in such short notice is something...

Also started working on a script with Max Conroy Thornton Hencke,
a black comedy that starts with an attempted rape and kidnapping.
...That's all she wrote.
